Welcome back friend. Apologies for scaring you, don't worry, only my exes think of me in this light, it's not my usual look. Luckily for you, you know me only as a glamorous classy lady, yours truly, Bitch in a Suit.

I have never been one to really be on top of technology except with the iPhone (which we no longer mention...RIP July 2009-June 2010, sadface).

Seeing though as I'm massively challenged in this area, I usually require a more technologically aware friend around-thanks Luce!-to set up my computer and show me all these handy tricks found on the super-sexy new Macbook Pro I acquired for the big 2-5...

So the whole mishpacha banded together and got me this advanced piece of machinery and I am only now discovering the (clearly obvious) cool features mac has put on this application, iPhoto: THE EFFECTS!

This isn't really just a divisive tactic to take silly egocentric photos of oneself (yeah, right) but in actual fact to discuss, that's right ladies and gays, my favourite (aside from shoes, no doubt) the wonderful world of beauty products.

And look! I'm a superhero!! Ridding the world of lame people and spreading my fabulous bitchiness far and wide, to all corners...

The original Bitch ...although my story doesn't involve the mob, we're quite similar...it's worth it just for the title song.

I digress.

Getting back on topic, I like to stay clean but unfortunately for me and my ridiculous hair, it is a revolving door with products. Also, I don't know one girl who would say no to a trip to the local shoppers/pharma prix, jean coutu etc...So let's explore.

I have always been an eyeliner sort of gal, well before Wino took it to new extremes, it's been my look since 2005 with variations depending on the occasion.

I haven't been able to enjoy a good lip colour as of late, mostly because guys get funny about getting it on them after kisses, but I've discovered this stain that literally does not come off.

...Until you are making serious attempts to take it off with your electric tooth brush, swaying back and forth in the wee hours of the morning, secretly hoping you don't draw blood until this damn stuff comes off...all in the name of ...

The trick is, the ultimate trick in my opinion, is good brows, if you've got a good frame, you can build from there. No one likes a penciled-on brow and unruly caterpillars are just a clear sign of laziness. Other than that, work it bitch.

Also nails, ladies, crucial, take care of that please, good grooming is essential.

Speaking of...this girl is the ultimate in cleanliness. look how clean she is.

Here's a girlfriend and I getting down to Robyn last weekend, still no photos of the singer herself, but who cares really. Bring it!!

Also, mention from last week-Miss Lolitta's blog, proof in point (we went to this directly after Robyn, I'm clean, remember?) Rocking the late 70s-early 80s look. Turbans are so hot, you just can't go wrong. Can you?

Finally got to see this equally horrific, disturbing and beautiful film this week. Wow, go check it out. Although, I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to everyone. If you are comfortable with graphic, literal sex, extreme mutilation and talking animals-chaos reigns-then check this out. Plus who doesn't love Willem Dafoe? Gainsbourg won the best actress award at the Cannes festival for her performance as well in 2009, watching a woman go mad and controlled by the evil of nature? Right up my alley.

Anyhoo, I'm really into tights. Most people who know me know I rarely wear regular trousers, I own two pairs of jeans and most of my nylons are in a pretty desparate situation. Nonetheless, I recently acquired a pair of delectable over-the-knee 20denier nylons with, get this, back seam running up...well, just check it:

I also got this great and very versatile army green silk top, wearing it with literally everything at the mo. The talons are my YSL brogues, so shiny.

I think they're pretty trampy to be honest but I know they'll make an appearance on the streets of this fair city once the weather warms...49 days...spring countdown

Also this past week we all got to enjoy at an arm's length the Paris shows, my favorite was Tisci's collection of Japanese warrior-inspired couture for Givenchy. Have a peak here:

This week I got to take in the amazing Robyn show at Metropolis which was bananas, she was wearing these mental mummy-like leggings and industrial-looking bomber, so fierce and adorably swedish as well. You can't see her, but check out the lights! woowee!

Also got style snapped at the Funkytown after-premier party by the lovely and gorge Lolitta for the Clin D'Oeil blog site: Vintage Valentino makes another appearance!

I want to show myself as I am

The title isn't meant to be narcissistic, actually, it's a quote by one of the most influential and one of the last couture designers, ever. It is only appropriate in that case, to then show you a bit about my favorite designer, the last great emperor of fashion, Mr. Valentino Garavani himself.

The best part about his pieces are the simple elegant details, the attention to the form, use of the best quality appliqué. So, I got my hands on some, my first piece by Valentino! Excuse the drama, but I'm in love with this late 70s-early 80s top, from the gather at the sequined bow on the hip, dramatic shoulders and rhinestone-encrusted buttons at the cuffs.

Anyways, enjoy.

A creation I picked up over the holidays at The Paperbag Princess in Toronto http://www.thepaperbagprincess.com/ As they were holding a fabulous sale, I managed to get my hands on this beaut. Ms. Mason also had a very cute dog who is apparently as famous as the stocked boutique based in Beverly Hills and a second location in my hometown. Check out the detail on the bow.

Irony...the Valentino film just came on! Perfect.

This is a pretty hilarous film, better known for documenting the career and relationship between Valentino Garavani and his lover and career-spanning colleague, Giancarlo Giammetti. The man says some pretty hysterical stuff, insightful as well as naive about his position in the fashion industry, and well versed as well in English, French, Italian and Spanish. Two things stand out for me, the stunning gown worn by Caroline Winberg in Valentino's Spring Couture show in 2006. The second, Valentino giving a criticism to the apprentice designer (during the takeover of his label) during a fitting, with the gown's length ending just above the ankles. He says this gown showing the ankles is "the ugliest dress in my entire career". The Last Emperor (2008), see it. If not for the quotes but for his ever evolving tan.

Bitch in a Suit: How to: The Summer Wedding

We all know with summer comes wedding. So although this may be late in the season, for those who are preparing for their last few bashes heading into Autumnal weddings-just add a wrap or ironically thick shoulder-padded blazer; which looks surprisingly good btw. Not uber-fug à la mommy BIAS in 1985 with a dashing baroque embossed print...but, I digress.

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to go to the fabulous wedding of our fabulous friends Kendra & Dean Brauer née Ross. It's all about the bright colours people and vintage gowns this season...xxx BIAS
